September provides us with an opportunity to serve our school community! Throughout September, we will be collecting non-perishable food items to support the Blount County Family Resource Center and help provide food for families in our school community.
We are also adding a little friendly competition! The middle school and high school homeroom that collects the most items will earn a donut breakfast and bragging rights for the year!
Families can send donations with students, who will drop them off each morning in either the Café Lobby or Gym Lobby. We will also be collecting donations at our home football games on September 11 and September 25.
Suggested items include canned vegetables and fruit, canned meats, pasta and pasta sauce, rice, peanut butter, cereal, macaroni and cheese, boxed meals, shelf-stable milk, and other non-perishable items.
Every item makes a difference, and together we can make a real impact for families in our community!
Please see the attached flyer for more information.

Today is World Suicide Prevention Day. This year's theme, "Changing the Narrative on Suicide," reminds us to move from silence to open, honest conversation. Our new Be Aware Blount Student Wellness Coalition reminds you that you are not alone and that you are worth it!
You never know what someone is carrying behind the scenes. Take a moment to check in, listen without judgment, and let the people around you know they don't have to face difficult moments alone.
If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, help is available. You are not alone:
See your counselor or social worker, trusted adult, or teacher
Call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (US & Canada, available 24/7).
Next Thursday, high school students can pick up bracelets, positive affirmation stickers, candy, and self-care coloring pages in the cafe during lunch.
